Macbeth Workshop

During the autumn term, Year 6 spent 3 weeks studying Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The children thoroughly enjoyed reading extract from the play in contrast with the modern day version.  To conclude this topic, we were lucky enough to have The Young Shakespeare Company come into school and work with the children. Throughout the performance the storyteller enables the children to become actively involved in the play through a carefully structured range of drama and language activities. They are encouraged to explore the motives, thoughts and feelings of the characters, improvising, for example, how Lady Macbeth might try to persuade her husband to carry out the assassination of the King.
