Wembrook Nursery
There are still spaces available in Nursery for September 2025 - both 15 hour and 30 hour spaces. Please contact the school office for more information.
Wembrook Primary School is very proud of its Nursery. The Nursery aims to provide a warm and caring environment where children can feel secure, confident and happy.
We admit children in the Autumn Term after their third birthday and have space for 78 children (39 in the morning and 39 in the afternoon). Children come for half a day for five sessions a week - either 9:00 am until 12:00 noon or 12:15 pm until 3:15 pm. We will do all that we can to meet your preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.
It is also now possible to get a funded childcare place for up to 30 hours per week for your child. This will be for 38 weeks of the year for children aged 3 and 4 if certain criteria are met. For more information please look at the attachments at the bottom of the page.
Admissions
Parents are welcome to visit the Nursery and look around when considering Nursery Education for their child. Please telephone the school on 02476 382961 to make an appointment.
Application forms for admittance are available from the school office and can be submitted after your child's second birthday. Once completed, your child's name will be placed in the Admissions file. Please notify us of any change of address or phone number, or if you no longer require a place.
Every nursery class or school has a maximum number of children it can accept. If there are more applications than there are places, the governors follow the criteria below:
- Children who have brothers or sisters at Wembrook Primary School.
- Children living within the school's priority area at the time of admission.
- Children living outside the priority area (in order of distance to the school).
Places are offered at the end of March, before the child starts in September.
If your child comes to our nursery unit, he or she does not have to move on to primary school. Equally, attendance at Wembrook Nursery does not guarantee that he or she will be offered a place in the primary school.
