Lunt Fort
On Wednesday 23rd May, 3LF visited Lunt Fort in Coventry. The trip was part of our Roman topic and gave us an insight into how Roman soldiers were organised and ways they would protect their forts. The day was packed with exciting activities. The children were able to act out the story of the Celt Boudicca, learn all about how the Romans protected their forts including their army strategies, traps and formations. Then, in the Afternoon, the children also got to see real armour and weapons and dress up in Roman soldier outfits. We role-played a battle between the Celts and the Romans and further developed the children’s knowledge of the different battle strategies each group had. The children loved the trip and learnt lots of interesting facts about both the Romans and the Celts.
